Catch the Wind
I saw you toss the kites on high
And blow the birds about the sky;
And all around I heard you pass,
Like ladies' skirts across the grass
Oh wind, a blowing all day long,
Oh wind, that sings so loud a song!
I saw the different things you did,
But always you yourself you hid.
I felt you push, I heard you call,
I could not see yourself at all
Oh wind, a blowing all day long!
Oh wind, that sings so loud a song!
O you that are so strong and cold,
O blower, are you young or old?
Are you a beast of field and tree,
Or just a stronger child than me?
O wind, a blowing all day long,
O wind, that sings so loud a song!
by Robert Louis Stevenson
Went for a walk with Noah and the dog today. Archie is incredibly good-natured and well-meaning but...erm...somewhat intellectually challenged and a tad hyperactive...oh, and scared of his own shadow.
Delirious at the prospect of a walk he ran round and round the pushchair in ever-decreasing circles and snaggled the leash all round the wheels before I'd secured Noah in his seat. 15 minutes and many curses later I freed the blessed thing and we set off only for him to stop dead in front of me...and of course I ran over him! The cause of his terror? A dropped teddy!
We did eventually manage a lovely walk. Noah was awake all the way round and watched everything with interest. He liked the wind. I love it too. The grasses were blowing so I thought I'd capture the motion.
