Cracked pavement

Yep, exactly that, on a side road near Charing Cross tonight. BUT, without wishing to get too posey, it reminds me of an exhibition at the National (ahem ahem) years ago, where David Hockney chose the pictures and described one of them, which was an old painting (which had therefore developed cracks in the paint) of somebody skating (so showed cracks in the ice) and he bought a print of it which got folded (and therefore developed contemporary cracks).
