It Was From the Isle of Tiree.....

The stones in the bowl come from the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides (Na h-Eileanan a-staigh in the Gaelic) round-washed by the Atlantic surf.

The round and oval stones, many of them granite, were collected years and years ago and they, with the bowl, have been a dining table centre piece ever since. I have no idea what the shrub is, it being part of what Italians call "an auntie's garden." People bring gift plants, put them where they think best.
