growing pains

How is it that teenagers always seem to grow quicker just as the school is about to start. These trousers fitted 5 weeks ago. The longer trousers I bought 2 weeks ago, just fit him now, I'll have to get him some more, or he'll look like an urchin. He's almost as tall as his dad now.
