Lauch Day

Sally got a lovely drink before hitting the Forth.

When I say hitting, it was more a be-grudging drag into the water by a RIB and 2 young chaps on it and two very helpful guys with a tractor. I had been advised by one of them that launching at low tide would not be a problem, but running out of slip way is, especially at low tide.In saying that, he was the one that organised the help for us and without whom, there is one less boat being offered for sale tonight on our favourite auction site, than there might have been.

When we came in for coffee and a pee and sat wondering if we were mad enough to go back out again, we were pretty tired. After another half hour of practicing approaching moorings, and going flat out on an increasing swell (about a foot), we decided to call it a day and hauled her back out with just the one helper plus a tractor.

All in all a huge learning day and only one slight disaster. The throttle and gear levers broke off their housing and had to be discarded, thus leaving one to drive from the rear and one to shout directions as you can't see over the cabin whilst holding the handle of the engine.

A bit of an adventure and a lot tiring.

Oh and one other little teensy problem..........my camera battery failed, thus this crappy close up of a repeat drink for Sally. She didn't really mind, as at last she got her bottom wet.
