Miro girl

We had planned to go on the big walk today (leaving Gordon in peace to write an essay), as the bridge is finally fixed, but the rain ruined our plan. So we pottered about and in the afternoon, Lily went to play at friends house.
Rohan always feels a bit sad about Lily going to play elsewhere, as she is desperate to go to 'someone's house'. Anyone would do I think! So as compensation for being stuck at home with her own family, I got an old, unloved canvas out of the cupboard and we painted over it. She then did a plan on paper of what she would paint - a sea picture, and set to work. I could hear her chattering away to herself, off in Rohanland, and she did start with the fish, but somehow added a boy who had dropped some coins.
The painting is almost finished, but she will add more another day. After that we made a very tasty lemon ricotta cake for our pudding. With a marbled chocolate topping. Except we failed at marbling. And Rohan only licked the chocolate off. The cake was Yuck.
