Our Very Own Stairs

This is the stairway in our apartment building in Paris's 13th arrondissement, taken from just below the 3rd floor. We're on the 4th (four flights up--it would be counted as the 5th in the United States). Fortunately there is also an elevator--it's rated for three persons, and it is relatively large as such elevators go--sometimes they barely hold two persons.

I've blipped a fair number of stairways during our stay here-they are often quite elegant, especially in older buildings (ours dates from the the 1960s).

Later in the evening: France won the Grand Slam in the Six Nations Rugby tournament, by beating England 12-10 in the final match to complete a sweep of th other four teams (Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy). Yippee!
