Olive Harvest Home Part 2
Here are my neighbours (plus a couple of helpers) doing our olives. They don't usually do it this way, there is usually a vibrating stick (ooerr missus) type thing which shakes them onto a net on the ground. But because there are only a few trees not done they were doing it manually, shaking them down with a stick (a non-vibrating one!) and putting them through this filter down the shute into the sack. Apparently the oil from round here is one of the best in Europe (in fact it is sold in supermarkets in the UK with an Italian label). I can vouch for it too as we have 40 litres of the stuff to get through!
