Blackbird

A day off today, and plenty of activity in the garden to distract me from my degree assignment, which is the real reason I've taken the day off. This blackbird came right up to the window, and posed long enough for me to overcome my idiocy with a camera and finally find the setting that focussed on the bird, not the glass window. I?m glad he did!

He was chirping constantly. I don't know if he was trying to tip me the winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup this afternoon, or if he was calling desperately for a female companion. I guess I should put in a predictable line here about knowing how he feels ? Eventually, though, he flew off in the direction of the racecourse.
