In flagrante

I interrupted these two in flagrante when I got home from work today.

I took lots of photos until the 'lady' mantis got a little distressed and started waving her legs at me.

She took off with her man on her back and tried to scale the wall of the playhouse (made of slippery metal). In the end, she headed for a quiet place where she could finish off doing what she was doing and probably devour her mate.

Nice.

Loving these wee beasties. Lots of inappropriate bug behaviour going on.

Not sure what happened colourwise to this shot but I quite like it.

Mind is full of something at work which seems highly unjust and I need to figure out how best to handle it without exacerbating things.

Off to bed in a mo. Tired and an early(ish) start in the morning.
