A much nicer (dry) morning here at Valley Camp near North Bend, WA.
The New Scout Outing for Troop 571 was a success with most of the new Scouts achieving the basic Scout rank, learning fundamental camping skills, and completing much of what they need to advance to Tenderfoot.

In a shocking development, my son Eric surprised me by earning his first merit badge, American Cultures. He's only been a member of the troop for a week and he's already working towards his Eagle rank.

I couldn't be more proud...
