abstract #2

Still not needed on jury. Phoned today, and that's me got off totally for the week. What a hassle.

To add to our business, we got a call from the South African airports. They were looking for some help with the operational planning of staff for the world cup period.

Quite interesting, but we've just not got anyone free! But we'd love to do it. We could get some nice PR! "Scotland saves the world cup!!!"

Too much time is bing taken up by one customer and testing. We have a huge system going in, and the customer wants to make sure it will handle the hundreds of staff.

We've done loads of performance testing in the office, and went to site this week for final testing on the real servers. However, they have screwed up and the equipment is not ready, backups missing, servers not avaialble, etc.

If we had done that, we would have had a good kicking, but because it's the customer, then we can't be too vocal in our complaints. Although, it nearly got to the point where we just told our staff to come home till they sorted it.

We'll see how we get on tomorrow.
