When two stags come to war...

Out walking hound junior this afternoon, I caught some movement in the corner of my eye, and saw these two majestic stags, their antlers proudly held high, enjoying a quiet afternoon together under the shelter of some distant trees. Last year's rutting season a distant memory.

This sort of encounter is one of the pleasures of walking in and around Chichester and the South Downs. I only wish I had had a better camera with a better lens on me at the time.
