Grateful

This is a picture of my eye

I received a phone call from my mum on the way to work this morning saying that she and my sister would be bringing my nana up to London today to an eye appointment as she had a detached retina. Imagine the retina as wallpaper and it was as if it was starting to peel off. A quick procedure would laser tack it back on. However, part way through the day a got another phone call to say it was worse than expected and that she needed to have surgery. After work I went to buy her necessities to stay over night. She had the op at 6.30 and by 7.45 she was out. All under local aesthetic...I will not go into what they had as I?m sure you don?t want to know.

I am very proud of her it all went very well and we left her having to keep her head down onto a pillow for 4 hours. It just makes you think how grateful we are for our eyes and how horrible it is that things like this can suddenly happen. I am so grateful that she is fine and the eye doctors took such grate care of her.
