Bombardment of Scarborough 16th December 2014 by winter sunlight.

The Union Jack is flying at half mast today.

In commemoration of the lives that were lost on 16th December 1914 when two battle cruisers, the SMS Von der Tann and the SMS Derfflinger appeared off the Scarborough coastline and fired into the town. Over 600 shells were spent and eighteen lives were lost.
