In My World

Who's the Boss?

As I haven't blipped in about forever, and the blip site as we know it is to be changed, probably before I have the opportunity to add another photo, I thought I'd better get my A into gear and do something about it.

The Rainbow Lorikeets virtually disappeared a couple of months ago, but have gradually made their way back into my garden. Probably the opportunity for a free feed each day was too good to miss. I've noticed this new lot though, numbered at around twelve at last count, are a stroppy lot when it come to the who's who of the feeding table.

Whilst they will allow their fellow Lorikeets access, (most of the time!) these guys have decided to assert their dominance, even with the big guns, eg. magpies and kookaburras.

This morning, little Butcher Bird came along for his breakfast, only to be told, in not uncertain terms, to wait his turn!

Can you see the dominant stance of this Lorikeet? It's funny to watch. Poor little Butchie wasn't impressed though.
