Carols at Lancing College Chapel
A half hour's drive west along the coast to the Boys' School Lancing College. Far bigger and posher than any school's got the right to be. With its own Cathedral-sized chapel too.
But still, a good winters afternoon is to be had there once a year. We sang all the old favourites: Hark the H, Good King W, Once in Royal D’s C, O Little Town of B, Silent Night. A good old singalong.
Everyone knew it was going to be cold so we’ve all dressed up in layers of winter vests/jumpers/jackets/coats. Behind me there’s laughter, I’m wondering why – then I hear what they hear – the gentle snores of someone who’s got themselves just too comfortable.
