Kings college chapel Cambridge

In a city crammed with show stopping architecture,this is the scene stealer over 280 feet long, 40 feet in span ,and with its fan vaulting ceiling ,the largest expanse of its type in the world.
The work on the building commenced in 1446 and was completed in 1515,the 26 sets of stained glass windows taking another 30 years to install .
Kings was one of Henry v1 two royal and religious foundations ,the other being Eton college,both colleges were to admit a maximum of 70 scholars drawn from poor backgrounds.
After Henry's murder in the Tower of London in 1471 the patronage of the building was continued by his successors conspicuously by Richard111 and Henry v11,but only the chapel of Henry V1 plans was finished.
