Feeding the flocks...

... of birds, that is! Now the weather's getting colder, lots of birds are coming to the feeders. Would dearly like to have blipped the flock of long-tailed tits that came several times to sample the nuts and suet balls, but they didn't ever stay long enough or stay still enough. All the birds were, not surprisingly, wary of the workmen in the next-door garden.

Not a great shot, but this will have to do! Blackbirds. We leave the windfall apples on the grass as the birds (mostly blackbirds) love them. Today lots of blackbirds were feeding and squabbling over them.

Now, off to start writing Christmas cards...
