Gamelands Pond in Mid-December

I went for a short hike with my husband in our local gamelands late in the morning of this day. The temperatures had warmed up a bit, and the ice on the ponds was in the process of melting. The surfaces were slick and shiny, with interesting textures, and a layer of snowy ice lingering just beneath. It's pretty to look at, but I wouldn't recommend an ice skating adventure on the thin ice.
