First flower of spring!

It's spring in St. John's, Newfoundland! The first flower is open in my garden...this is a spring heath, Erica carnea 'Bell's Extra Special'. Still a couple of weeks before the first spring bulbs will bloom, but this one will fill the gap for now. I think this is the earliest I've ever had an Erica open.
