Sunset and model boats, Mote Park

We were later home from town than we expected or wanted to be today. Walked in again and did the things we needed to do, including a Christmas haircut for me. I came away from the hairdresser with a bag of mushrooms - like you do. A lad I used to teach called in with mushrooms for Norma and asked me if I wanted any. Just the thing to buy in a barbers I thought. I say lad, I first taught him as a 13 year old in 1977 so that must make him around 50.

We had a good lunch in Pop's cafe, well cooked, hot and plenty of it. That delayed us of course, but we needed to get back as a large bunch of friends we coming round for the annual Christmas do that we hold at our place. We had a bit of house cleaning to do and veg preparation (the stew had been done Thursday). The guests bring starters, desserts and cheese, so it's not all down to us. A good evening was had be all and Charlie asked to make a reservation for next year!
