Life in Winter 1

The thing I love most about living here with moderate winters is that despite the fact that the world has turned to 50 shades of brown and gray, there are still lovely signs of life.

This is the beginning bloom of an Oregon Grape Holly. It will continue to develop throughout the winter and spring, and eventually produce a lovely cluster of fruit that truly does resemble a cluster of grapes in the summer.

I see more of these in the blip days ahead...
