Who am I?

We went on a round trip to Shrewsbury today to visit my sister in law who has been unwell.
We left here with a crust of snow on the ground, but by the time we were in Shropshire things were decidedly warmer.
We took the dogs for a little walk to the local copse, and the sun came out.
This little ladybird was resting on a twig in the sunshine and looked rather unusual.
It doesn't seem to be in any of our books - any ideas?
Also buzzing overhead was a hover fly, it felt like spring!
What a difference a hundred miles makes in this little island.
