It's getting towards the last few days that Powis Castle is open, it closes next weekend for conservation and a damn good clean. opening again at the beginning of March, shinny, spic and span. It's been a quiet day- though very cold,- volunteering necessitates wearing thermal vests, thick sweaters, scarves, and gloves, but it's such good fun, everyone seems to enjoy these winter days, everyone but Alan- the peacock, still sulking behind the scrubs in the court yard, his 'wife' strutting around, obviously the one that wears the trousers.
