View from the Cathedral Belfry in Vilnius
Today I went up the Cathedral Bell Tower in the main square while Diane stayed at the bottom. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone suffering from vertigo.
Although there was grating in front of the windows at the intermediate levels it was possible to get a good view at the very top. While I was at the top the bells rang out on the hour which proved to be very loud. Thankfully it was only 1pm
This picture is taken looking out over the top of the cathedral. The statue is the central of a trio of statues. This is St Helena with the cross. The statues were destroyed by the Soviets but renovated in 1997.
In the background is one of the most iconic symbols in Vilnius, the Gedimino tower with great views of the city from the top.
