Spreading good Will
I've been sorting out my office and hanging pictures all weekend. It's been really good fun and our 'relatively' new house is beginning to look a lot more like our home.
Whilst going through some boxes I found an envelope containing the ashes of my last dog, William. He died 13 years ago after a bad reaction to his rabies jab. He was due to come to live with us in France, but the jab did for him.
Will was a fantastic border collie/spaniel cross. He could play tennis, headbutting the ball back to me for rallies of ten shots or more. As blipper BrodieB says, he had the knack of turning black clothes white and white clothes black, but he was a great pal.
He used to come into the office with me, and had his own e-mail address long before most humans.
I've had a long time to get over losing him, but today it felt right to spread his ashes as this is the home in France he would have loved, with a huge garden and the breeze in his fur. So I chose to sprinkle him under three of our young apples, in the hope of a bumper crop.
As you can see, I had help from a dignified audience.
