Dakota-fly with me
Well, we’ve got the Christmas tree, bought from a guy who is a professional musician with Scottish Opera but due to cutbacks he has had to get himself a part time job as a forester..
So, over to our local garden centre for some tree lights. And that’s where I met Stephen with his collection of birds of prey.
Here he is with Dakota an eight-year-old European Eagle owl. “He weight nearly ten pounds and he is very strong. In the wild these birds can take down roe deer and foxes as well as hares, rabbits, and small prey.”
They are the largest of the owls and were native to Britain until the 19th century.
Ssome years ago I videoed a European Eagle owl chick at another Birds of Prey centre in Perthshire.
