Fungi

Beautifully sunny lunchtime so I headed off into the campus grounds in search of a blip. I managed to spot the calling red kites and photograph them as they took off but the photos were not great. As I was photographing some little mushrooms, a dread-locked chap approached and asked if I was looking for magic mushrooms. I told him that I was only snapping. He told me all about the mushrooms and where to find them and showed me an impressive sandwich bag-full that he'd already collected.

I'm pretty sure that these are not the liberty caps (Psilocybe semilanceata) that the mushroom hunter was looking for but they were forming a lovely ring in one of the areas of the gardens.
