Days gone by . . .

Just looking at this photo - taken in 1962 - immediately brings back the excitement of Christmas as a child! I can only remember being taken to see Santa once, at Hills Department Store in Blackpool. My coat is pale blue, I was obviously going to grow into it! I was given a pink plastic needlework box which opened out and had lots of tiny compartments in it!

I'm struck with how glamorous the fairy is - you don't see fairies like this any more! Perhaps she's the Snow Queen . . .
