Westlake Pond in the rain

My morning walk was highlighted by a steady rain and a detour to see how the birds were faring at the pond. The cormorants claimed the highest ground and the others settled for floating on the surface. The rain was the tail end of the biggest storm to hit California in two years and was a good start to making a dent in the long drought.
