Our Journey is a process

Water under the bridge

J had meetings in Golden, so I tagged along. It was a lovely afternoon with mild temperatures. I strolled around town a bit then went down by the river. I was intrigued by the fast moving water.

After all the fuss, our insurance adjuster decided that our roof does not need to be replaced so the insurance will not pay for a new roof (although he did say they would pay for a new roof on the tool shed!). So, we have asked the roof inspector (not the insurance adjuster) for a written certification to that effect. What a mess! And, then our radon mitigation company called and cancelled until mid-January! Well, I guess we get to leave everything until we come back in January.

In the meantime, our new real estate agent insisted that we have professional photos taken of the house. The photographer came earlier this week, and took lots of photos - most from the same positions that I had. The photographic studio developed all of the photos as HDRs. I really liked most of them because they made the rooms look so much bigger. The photographer had been shooting with a D700 full frame camera and a 14-24mm lens, while my photos were on my D7100 DX camera with a 16-35mm lens. So, I think the wider lens on a full frame camera really made the difference. As far as processing, however, the photos were all overexposed. Even the realtor saw that. And J liked most of my exterior shots better. So, I modified and re-ordered all of the photos and sent them back for processing into the video showcasing the house. The realtor's assistant is supposed to get everything put together for the final for us to review on Monday. Then, about mid-week next week, the realtor will get the house back on the market. That is also the time when the realtor and his family fly to Mexico for Christmas and J and I head back to Reno. We were originally thinking maybe it would be better to put the house on the market after Christmas, but our realtor assured us that there are lots of people looking during the holidays and that he was perfectly capable of running things from Mexico. So, this should be interesting to say the least.

All I can say is there is never a dull moment in our lives. Every day is an adventure!
