The Toy Shop

Blipped this last year - our local branch of The Entertainer which is the largest independent toy retailer in the UK, and still opening new shops (104 at the last count) - even though (or maybe because) they do not open on Sundays, don't do Halloween, don't stock toy machine guns or anything occult - and tithe all their profits to charity. Gary and Catherine Grant opened their first shop in 1981, and stick to what they see as their Christian values, even when it seems to make no sense.

I don't have any kids to buy toys for this year - but this is where I would if I did.

Went to see "Paddington" at our local cinema - what a great film - all we lacked was a small kid - but even our big ones enjoyed it. And then J came home and cooked us all a truly Brazilian meal: beans, maize cuscuz, steaks, salad, roast pumpkin, and pudim for dessert.
