The best medicine
...at the end of a tiring day is laughing till you cry, and that is precisely what I did this evening while watching John Cariani’s "Almost, Maine" performed by our Theatre Company. Hearty congratulations to a cast of excellence. Stars in their youthful eyes, bless them for their love of the stage and enthusiasm for sharing it. This wonderful, poignant performance was preceded by the official opening of the Theatre Foyer Gallery exhibition - a collection of art work produced by students (pictured) whilst attending Art summer school in the States (Rhode Island) this year - all made possible through a scholarship fund that is generated from the generous donations of the class of '97 in memory of a prematurely lost classmate. We said a few appropriate words, ate a few snacks, listened to a student playing some delightful classical guitar music and looked at the displayed art work while talking to the artists for an hour before the play.
An extraordinary evening, to warm the heart with fuzzies, in spite of the constant freezing icy rain - but could be worse - just noticed one year ago's photo ....
