Gourd Beginnings

My wife has been creating art for the past three years or so. She began with hangings made from beach findings (trash) and has gradually moved to more mainstream pieces. Her latest passion is gourd art. Turns out there is an entire community of artists that work in this media, there are websites for finished pieces as well as the raw materials. Because we live in Mexico, we have to be a bit more self reliant, searching for gourds everywhere we travel and buying supplies on our trips back to the States. On our last visit, we acquired a gourd saw, allowing me (yes, I do the cutting on all her projects) to be more precise as I follow the patterns she draws. This is just the start, she will have to clean, prep, and create from here. Tune in later to see what this becomes.
