Believe

Thank you all so very much for your good wishes. It is a difficult time, and I appreciate every note you send. The clinic still has treatments to offer me. They believe I would be much worse now without the infusions I had, but then they would have to say that I suppose. No way of knowing. I will see the oncologist next week and when we’ve got all the information, we can come to some informed decision. I feel well, and as the clinic doc said, I am clinically very well ie no discernible symptoms., which makes it very difficult to contemplate treatment that will make me feel bad. Luckily I have the most amazing homeopath who I’ve known for 30 years, he supports me through all the ups and downs with remedies which undoubtedly help my state of mind as well as my body. He is on the case as we speak, initially sending me something for ‘diagnostic shock’ which is playing its part just now.

Walked into town today and the Christmas window competition is hotting up. This is part of the display at Seventh Heaven, one of my favourite shops. When I saw their illuminated sign ‘Believe’ it seemed entirely fitting for me right now. Not a good image photographically, but meaningful on many levels. Keep cheerful, believe the best we can believe, believe we can do it, and believe in whatever helps us through.

Found this on PoemHunter, part of a much longer poem

I Believe

I believe that the sun shines after the rain
I believe if you don't get hurt you'll never gain
I believe in not doing things the easy way
I believe that being selfish doesn’t pay

I believe in a second chance
I believe in a life long romance
I believe there is life after death
And standing up to a life of mess

I believe to always look on the bright side
I believe that life is just one big ride
I believe when I die people will grieve
But it’s ok because I believe
