Two feet good, four wheels bad

I had a walk out before the next flurry of snow, and called at a friend's. This is the gin gan on the end of the house. A gin gan (no, it's not a cocktail though maybe I could invent one - gin and Crabbie's?) was where the horse would go round providing the power for the threshing barn next door.

Quite a few drivers didn't know what to do with the horsepower in the cars and vans trying to get up the steep bank near our house today. The snow had gone hard-packed and icy then melted again so was causing chaos. It wasn't slush, it was ice with water on top. Some drivers don't have the experience to cope. I could have spent quite a while watching them trying, getting stuck, reversing and giving it another go, then having to reverse while a car appeared from the opposite direction, by which time more vehicles were in the queue to have a go. But I wouldn't be so cruel. They were all male drivers, just in case anybody was wondering.
