Auckland Art Gallery
A retired Economist gave us his view of New Zealand's history using pieces of art to illustrate his points. Now I know you are probably thinking that this sounds just a little bit boring but I can reassure you that his quick wit and perceptive mind made this a pleasure and we learnt all sorts of important things. This view is of the entrance to the Gallery taken from the Mojo cafe where we went after the tour to restore caffeine levels and partake of the popular New Zealand speciality known as a pie. Positively oozing with knowledge culture and pie we went in search of some retail therapy in Downtown Auckland and returned in triumph with a chopping board made from bog excavated 45,000yr old Kauri wood. Dinner came later in a Ponsonby Chinese Restaurant with the delightful Jame and her parents Bill and Mo(ira), recently arrived from the UK.
