Snorkeling....I love it!!!
I picked this photo from my snorkeling today because it has a school of yellow tang.....but there is a very colorful tang in their school that I have never seen before. I couldn't find him in any of the sites I found on the internet or my reef fish chart....so now I am very curious if I will ever see him again.
While snorkeling I saw two large green turtles.....I was tempted to blip that photo, but figured I would see them again! They are not afraid of divers or snorkelers....in fact, I had to keep back paddling to get far enough away from them to get a full body photo.
Also, saw a large school of some kind of butterfly fish, but couldn't find them in the sources I checked either. But I know some of the fish I saw were: Wrasse, parrot fish, moorish idol fish, prisoner fish, tang of many type, black dragon, etc....can't remember them all.
My calves are a little sore because flipping those flippers is not something I do everyday....and I had to work hard because the waves and current were strong. We were in a semi-protected area....but it was still rough and the life guard kept making announcements for people to stay inside the buoy because of the strong current today. Actually, I lose myself while out there and once I found myself at the buoy and knew the announcement was for me...I went as fast as I could back inside our limits!!!
I love snorkeling....my family is always ready to stop snorkeling before I am ready to come back in.....this time hubby was bound and determined to stay out as long as I did. :))) I like sharing the experience and pointing to the really exciting fish, turtles, coral.....whatever!
