Christmas at the Cemetery

On a couple of different holidays, the Great Lakes National Cemetery takes on some color. One is July 4th...Independence Day, where an American flag is placed in front of every grave. Thousands of flags turn the place from white...into red, white, and blue.

The other is Christmas. Families can decorate the graves with Christmas wreaths. While the predominate added color is green, colorful ribbons and other decorations add many other colors.

Hundreds of wreaths were already in place. In this shot, there were several in front of the headstones, but my angle shows only the one in front.

May they rest in Christmas peace.
