Hoy Sound

I've not been about much with the camera for various reasons but decided to head to Stromness for a walk along the shore. Waves on the open sea were reported as being up to 30 metres high under gale force winds. So I didn't walk far. There was thunder and lightning, hailstorms, rain and gales- very bracing. I felt sorry for the little birds like purple sandpipers and even the seals at sea looked a bit impressed by the conditions.
As I waited for the bus back to Kirkwall in Stromness an incredible hailstorm blew through. On the bus back I listened to the Planet Suite- Mars, Bringer of War was accompanied by sheet lightning over the dark countryside. A few more shots here.
