St Thomas a Becket Chapel

Driving back from the woodland mangement task today with the normal collection of photos of bonfires and scythes , I went past a very old chapel dedicated to St Thomas a Becket (1118 - 1170) who is supposed to have preached there beneath the most enormous yew tree that is still there. In fact I have never see so many yew trees in a churchyard before.

I went in to photograph the 13C wall paintings but the light coming in the windows was too bright, yes too bright in December. I will go back at a different time of day to capture the wall paintings. Today the winter sun in the graveyard gave a better picture.
