Un-looking
Tonight I popped down to The Lighthouse to see the new exhibition which displays the costumes used during a number of performances at the Creative Mackintosh Festival in October.
Un-Looking was a creative and collaborative project between Oceanallover, led by Alex Rigg and the Glasgow Mackintosh Group.
The landscape paintings of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, which were painted during the final decade of his life from 1918 – 1928, were the inspiration for the spectacular costumes and performances at a number of the Mackintosh buildings during the Creative Mackintosh Festival.
The aim of the project was to raise awareness of the wonderful Mackintosh landscape paintings and help to reconnect the paintings with his monumental buildings for both residents of, and visitors to, Glasgow.
