Rainy Anniversary!

Papeete, Tahiti -- 36 years ago today, I was fortunate enough to marry the amazing Mr. W. It absolutely bucketed rain on our wedding day, and then in the evening just as we were about to leave the reception, it turned to snow.

Today, there is no chance of snow in the forecast for Papeete, but it is certainly outdoing itself in the rain department! We are promised an entire day of rain and thunder storms. We decided that perhaps we would take a tour of some of the sights instead of risking electrocution whilst swimming, but upon further investigation, we were informed that the Paul Gauguin museum is closed, as is the most spectacular waterfall on the island (dangerous in rainy conditions, apparently). So we are holed up in our cozy over water bungalow, reading, playing cards, and just enjoying each other's company. Here's to another 36 years together!
