Confused?

I had intended to go out today, although when I looked out of the window, I didn't feel too encouraged. Then I got a text from a friend saying they were were going to discharge her from hospital later, and would I be able to drive her home. So, I've been on standby all day, but got various jobs done and even managed a few Christmas decorations. In the event, she wasn't well enough to go home, so I was stood down.
This is a book I treated myself to from the bookshop at the BTO conference. I had been tempted to get it once before, but this time I succumbed, as it seemed like just the thing for a confused birder like myself.
