Watching me wash-up

If I turn my back from washing-up in the kitchen, this is my view of the sitting-room and Hector keeping an eye on me! From here he also commands a view onto our road depending on the state of the foliage of the magnolia. This is where he spots all sorts of dogs, friendly and hostile, and lurking cats. When he takes a dislike to an animal he jumps off the sofa and heads into the kitchen to be let outdoors, usually barking and bristling with annoyance.

As you can see the room is undergoing decoration. Good news! My decorators return tomorrow! I cannot wait to re-carpet this room, having lived with this dreadful carpet for too long. But hey, it was a good quality carpet and with two lively little boys and a Border in tow and their friends running up and down, the carpet has served its purpose well.
