Italian Cookie Sale
Today I was at church bright and early to help sell homemade cookies for the Italian Catholic Federation Branch 425. I was an actual volunteer for the 7 am Mass but stuck around to help sell before and after the 9 am and 11 am Masses, too.
There were pizzelles, biscotti, ricotta, anise and almond cookies and for the less discerning...the more "common" treats like fudge, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. All lovingly prepared by Italian hands.
Pictured here are Judy, who was the chair of the cookie sale (yes, she has blue hair), her husband Bill (left) and Joe.
Joe is a great guy. He suffers from Parkinson's Disease but he doesn't let that stop him. He volunteers at every ICF event, doing whatever he can , if it's simply to be the greeter. He volunteers for other organizations, too, within and outside of the church. I enjoy being in his presence.
