Canal Grass

It was so nice to have sunshine today although it was quite cold. After a few errands and a sushi lunch we headed for the canal towpath once again and walked from mile post 10 to 8 and back.

I have blipped some wide shots of the canal previously, so instead, I thought I would post this image of the beautiful sunlight on the grasses in the water.

The C&O Canal is 184 miles long and runs from Georgetown (part of D.C.) to Cumberland Maryland. My husband has run over 100 miles of this and his goal is to complete it all. The sections he has yet to complete are obviously quite a distance from home so will require a bit of planning and coordination with me, as I am needed for drop-off and pick-up and maybe some resuscitation. His retirement is about 15 months away, and he hopes to complete it all after that. It will probably require 8 to 10 day-trips. While he runs, I explore the area with my camera so it works out well.
