Goodbyes

My old friend Sue and her dog Jess, an old friend of Casey's, departed after a short but welcome visit, taking with them the prettiest kitten, front left here. He's to be named Leo.

The smallest kitten went to his new address yesterday and the remaining two will be collected tomorrow.

Also today I gave away my remaining two hens, Snowdrop and Chick, to a safer home, all the rest of the birds having been lost to predators. Their father, Snowy, ended up as a trail of white feathers on Friday and will strut his stuff no more.

It's altogether a rather sad and sombre time.
