We went to the Hackney Empire tonight (I'm posting this four days late) to see Mother Goose with the always amazing Clive Rowe. He and the show didn't disappoint.

I wasn't brought up on a diet of traditional festive entertainments, my mum's family not being English did christmas differently. So when me and Clare had kids I embraced that particularly British theatrical mayhem cautiously at first and then wholeheartedly. I love that whatever you see it's basically the same show with the same types of character, the same ridiculous formula every year. I suspect I love it more than the kids.
